Lesley Mitchell is a highly qualified, experienced instructor who has been teaching Pilates classes for 7 years. By popular demand the last 5 years have seen her expanding her timetable to offer morning and evening classes.

As a method of exercise Pilates strengthens and tones weaker areas of the body while stretching and releasing tighter areas. It also relaxes and rebalances the body. Pilates has evolved into a very effective form of exercise helping with everyday functional activities, easing movement and improving posture.

Classes are currently held at the Gytes Leisure Centre, Peebles.

Lesley's patience and attention to detail will guarantee you work at the level which suits your needs. The maximum number in any class is fifteen to ensure steady progress.
At first it may seem very gentle and easy, but continual focus on recruiting the deeper core muscles can produce a very intense and beneficial workout. Pilates has been known to help relieve chronic back problems if the problem is postural. Other benefits include focusing the mind and relaxing the body, which in itself can be productive.
