Pilates Benefits

Pilates (Pih-lah-tees) was developed over 80 years ago by Joseph Pilates as a method of body conditioning. Originally used by dancers and professionals for rehabilitation or to improve performance.

As a method of exercise Pilates strengthens and tones weaker areas of the body while stretching and releasing tighter areas. It also relaxes and rebalances the body. Pilates has evolved into a very effective form of exercise helping with everyday functional activities, easing movement and improving posture.

  • Mobility and flexibility may be improved along with better posture and movement quality
  • In a world of fast living and high stress levels Pilates can help aid relaxation and reduce stress levels which may improve sleep and lifestyle

It is strongly recommend you participate in some form of cardiovascular training and bone-loading activities to help create a balanced programme and improve overall results.
